Praise & Worship

PRAISE AND WORSHIP

Our Praise and Worship might be different from other Churches. According to Psalms 149-150, we believe in a contemporary, upbeat Praise and Worship style. We want our services to be a time of celebration and worship to the Lord—psalms 47:1, “To the Chief Musician, a psalm of the sons of Korah. Oh, clap your hands, all you people! Shout to God with the voice of triumph! If you want to see more of our praise and worship, check out our YouTube worship playlist!

LIFTING UP HANDS

We believe in lifting our hands in worship. Psalms 63:4, “Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name.” Psalms 134:2, “Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the Lord.” 1 Tim.2:8, “I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.”

SPEAKING IN TONGUES

You will notice that some people will pray in a strange language. According to 1 Cor. 14:14-15, “For if I pray in a tongue, my Spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful. So what shall I do? I will pray with my Spirit, but I will also pray with my mind; also sing with my mind.” We believe this is a manifestation of being filled with the Holy Spirit. When we come together in our Church services, we sometimes pray or worship together in tongues or the Spirit, as we say. When we pray together in unity of the Spirit, we are being edified as one body. 1 Cor. 14:5, “I would like every one of you to speak in tongues, but I would rather have you prophesy. He who prophesies is greater than one who speaks in tongues unless he interprets so that the Church may be edified.”

PROPHECY

If someone comes up to the worship leader and speaks out in front of the congregation, this is usually the gift of prophecy. Someone might speak out loud in tongues, and an interpretation will follow. God communicates to the Church many times in this way.
